Original Hairspray stars Laura Bell Bundy, Kerry Butler, and Marissa Jaret Winokur will host the 2025 Chita Rivera Awards, which will be presented May 19 at 7:30 PM at NYU Skirball.
The trio, who recently received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Best Revue for their Off-Broadway engagement in Mama I’m A Big Girl Now!, said in a statement, "We couldn’t be more excited to host the Chita Rivera Awards and celebrate the incredible dancers and choreography that have brought stories to life on Broadway and in film over the past year. Dance and movement are powerful storytellers—they drive narratives, ignite emotion, and elevate every performance. We look forward to honoring these talented artists and toasting their artistry in what promises to be a truly inspiring evening.�
Named after late Tony winner Chita Rivera—who originated some of Broadway's best-known dance-heavy lead roles, such as Anita in West Side Story and Velma in °ä³ó¾±³¦²¹²µ´Çâ€�the Chita Rivera Awards celebrate dance and choreographic excellence and achievement.
Presenters are scheduled to include Tituss Burgess, Donna Murphy, Savion Glover, Nathan
Lee Graham, Shoshana Bean, Eva Noblezada, Nicole Fosse, Noah Fosse, Liz
Cho, Khori Petinaud, Lorna Luft, Stephanie Pope, and Vy Higginsen. The evening will also feature performances from Broadway's BOOP! The Musical and the revival of Gypsy as well as The Verdon Fosse Legacy and The Sing Harlem Choir.

As previously reported, Pippin Tony winner Ben Vereen will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Pippin and Wicked composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz will present the award.
The forthcoming awards are produced by Joe Lanteri, founder and
executive director of the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, Inc.,
in conjunction with Patricia Watt.
All proceeds of the Chita Rivera Awards benefit the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation, which is committed to broadening performing arts awareness while advocating education and high standards of excellence in dance. This year, all funding and proceeds will support the creation of a new Chita Rivera Training Scholarship, a program of NYCDAF.
