Broadway and West End musical Operation Mincemeat is planning a global takeover, with a tour set to launch in 2026 that will visit the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, and New Zealand. The news was announced at the United Nations May 13 by the show's Tony-nominated writers David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts; and original cast members Jak Malone and Claire-Marie Hall.

The world tour will begin February 16, 2026, at Manchester's The Lowry. The theatre co-commissioned (with New Diorama Theatre) the musical and supported its early development, including its first-ever scratch performance in 2017. That premiere will kick off a 40-week tour of the U.K., tickets for which go on pre-sale June 5 at 10 AM GMT ahead of a June 6 general sale. Further stops and casting are to be announced.

The recent Broadway transfer, at the Golden Theatre, is a 2025 Tony nominee for Best Musical, with its entire original cast reprising their performances. Along with Hall and 2025 Tony nominee Malone, that cast also includes writers Cumming, Hodgson, and Roberts. The multi-extended Main Stem bow is currently selling tickets through February 16, 2026.

The show, created by U.K. comedy group SpitLip, tells a wacky, stranger-than-fiction story that is somehow a completely true tale, following a World War II scheme in which British Intelligence officials dressed up a corpse as an officer in the Royal Marines in order to fool the German government into believing an Allied attack on Sicily was imminent, covering up their true plans to invade Greece and Sardinia in the process. Spoiler alert—it actually worked.

"Broadway opened the literal world to us, and we couldn't be more grateful for every unpredictable twist of this astonishing journey," say Cumming, Hagan, Hodgson, and Roberts in a joint statement. "Most of all, we wish to thank the audiences who continue to carry this show with love and enthusiasm. Operation Mincemeat reminds us that in uncertain times, the bonds between allies are more important than ever—and that message feels especially relevant as we consider all the great nations in which our show will now have the opportunity to play. This show continues to be the adventure of a lifetime, and we're wildly excited about what's to come.

The show is directed by Robert Hastie, leading a creative team that also includes choreographer Jenny Arnold, music director and supervisor Joe Bunker, orchestrator Steve Sidwell, set and costume designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, and sound designer Mike Walker. Avalon is producing in association with SpitLip.
