Three-time Tony nominee Andy Karl (Groundhog Day, Rocky, On the Twentieth Century) will star in the title role of the Singapore debut of Beetlejuice the Musical next year.
Performances will begin January 15, 2026, at the Esplanade Theatre with additional casting to be announced at a later date. The Singapore news follows the recent announcement that the Beetlejuice first national tour will play a 13-week limited engagement at Broadway's Palace Theatre this fall.
Michael Cassel Group and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures are producing the Singapore engagement of the hit musical. Tickets will go on sale to the general public July 3 with a presale access available via Ticketek Singapore. For additional ticket information,
Producer Michael Cassel said in a statement: “We’ve had the privilege of producing some of the biggest titles in musical theatre, and Beetlejuice the Musical is undoubtedly one of the most original, exhilarating productions of the last decade. It’s wickedly funny, visually spectacular, and with Andy Karl donning the iconic suit, it’s going to be an unmissable performance for Singapore audiences.
Karl added: “Beetlejuice is not your typical leading man—unless your typical leading man is a hilarious fast-talking demon with an attitude and the worst fashion sense. That’s exactly why I couldn’t say no! He’s wildly inappropriate, totally unhinged, and yet somehow weirdly lovable? I’m thrilled to bring this gloriously deranged show—and my questionably-clean striped suit—to Singapore for the first time. Hang on to your sandworms, because…it’s showtime!
Based on Tim Burton’s 1988 film, Beetlejuice the Musical features direction by Alex Timbers with an original score by Eddie Perfect, a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, choreography by Connor Gallagher, and music supervision, orchestrations, and incidental music by Kris Kukul.
The production also has scenic design by David Korins, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Peter Hylenski, projection design by Peter Nigrini, puppet design by Michael Curry, special effects design by Jeremy Chernick, illusions by Michael Weber, hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe, make-up design by Joe Dulude II, dance arrangements by David Dabbon, and music producing by Matt Stine.
Beetlejuice officially opened on Broadway April 25, 2019, subsequently garnering eight 2019 Tony nominations, including Best Musical. The original production at the Winter Garden Theatre closed March 10, 2020—during the 2020 pandemic shutdown—but returned to Broadway April 8, 2022 (through January 8, 2023), at the Marquis Theatre before launching its national tour.
