Broadway News Gianna Harris Will Be Broadway's New Juliet in & Juliet; TikTok Vocal Coach Cheryl Porter to Also Join Cast

The long-running, hit jukebox musical continues at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Gianna Harris, part of the original Broadway cast of the Alicia Keys musical Hell's Kitchen, will step into the title role of the hit jukebox musical & Juliet June 10 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Harris, who was also seen on Broadway in School of Rock The Musical, will succeed Maya Boyd, who will play her final performance June 8.

Producers also announced that Cheryl Porter, the vocal coach known for her viral TikTok videos, will make her Broadway debut in & Juliet August 7, playing a 13-week engagement as Ang茅lique. Porter, known to millions as Mama Cheryl, voiced 鈥淭he Circle of Life鈥� in Italian for Disney鈥檚 2019 The Lion King; she will succeed Tony nominee Jeannette Bayardelle, who will play her final performance August 3.

Tickets for the long-running production are now on sale through February 8, 2026.

The current Broadway cast of & Juliet features Boyd as Juliet, Joey Fatone as Lance, Alison Luff as Anne, Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, Liam Pearce as Romeo, Michael Iv谩n Carrier as May, Bayardelle as Ang茅lique, and Nathan Levy as Fran莽ois.

The company also includes Gabe Amato, Daniel Assetta, Reese Britts, Nicholas Cooper, Charli D鈥橝melio, Jhailyn Paige Farcon, Makai Hernandez, Joomin Hwang, Khailah Johnson, Elsa Keefe, Alaina V铆 Maderal, Daniel J. Maldonado, Mackenzie Meadows, Alejandro MullerDahlberg, Joe Moeller, Cassie Silva, TJ Tapp, Darien Van Rensalier, and Romy Vuksan.

Nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, & Juliet flips the script on the William Shakespeare classic, imagining what would happen next if Juliet hadn鈥檛 ended it all over Romeo. Featuring a book by David West Read, the score includes a mix of tunes by Max Martin and more, including 鈥淪ince U Been Gone,鈥� 鈥淩oar,鈥� 鈥淚 Want It That Way,鈥� and 鈥淐onfident.鈥�

The production also has direction by Luke Sheppard, choreography by Jennifer Weber, musical supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Bill Sherman, scenic design by Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Gareth Owen, video projection design by Andrzej Goulding, hair, wig, and makeup design by J. Jared Janas, and musical direction and additional orchestrations by Dominic Fallacaro.

U.S. casting is by Stephen Kopel and Carrie Gardner.

The international hit, which opened at the Sondheim November 17, 2022, was the first new musical of the 2022鈥�2023 Broadway season to announce its recoupment.
