The June 10 performance of Maybe Happy Ending was the production's first after coming out of this year's Tony Awards the most Tony-winning show of the season鈥攊ncluding that all-important Best Musical title. And electricity was in the air. Not only were the fans (the fireflies) out to support and celebrate, the show itself gained a special, new prop: its Tony statuette.
Jazz singer Gil Brentley, played by Dez Duron, usually starts the show with a martini in hand, but the show switched things up for last night's performance. Take a look at the stunt below.
2025 Tony winner Darren Criss and Helen J Shen lead the Tony-winning musical at the Belasco Theatre, where opening night was November 12, 2024. The musical, featuring a Tony-winning book and score by Hue Park and Will Aronson, is currently flying high as the most Tony-winning show of the season. Ghostlight Records released the musical's original Broadway cast album digitally earlier this year, and a vinyl edition will drop June 13. Stream the album .
The Broadway cast features Shen and Criss starring as, respectively, Claire and Oliver, South Korea-based Helperbots that have been deemed obsolete. The pair form an unlikely bond, setting off a surprising and romantic adventure. The cast also includes Marcus Choi and Duron, with the company rounded out by understudies Steven Huynh, Hannah Kevitt, Daniel May, Claire Kwon, and Christopher James Tamayo. Casting is by Telsey & Co's Craig Burns.
