Sam & Company, a new genre-spanning musical theatre album, will be released on streaming platforms June 12.
Presented by Gene Fisch Jr., The York Theatre Company, Alexander Robertson, and Theatre Soundworks, the album will feature 10 standalone songs composed by Sam Nasar. Conducted by Patrick B. Phillips, with orchestrations and arrangements by Jensen Krall, lyricists for songs include Jackson Tucker-Meyer, Cayenne Douglass, Celine Snippe, Ted Bushman, Alyssa See-Tho, and Aaron Coleman.
Performers on the record include Kevin Chamberlin (Seussical, The Addams Family), Marcus Martin (Aladdin), Ashlyn Maddox (Parade), Nadina Hassan (Mean Girls), Fergie L. Philippe (Hamilton, Camelot), Khailah Johnson (& Juliet), Cara Rose DiPietro, and Alyssa Payne.
The band includes many current Broadway musicians, including Diego Retana-Pagden, Lindsay Rosenberg, Danielle Giulini, Sarah Fazendin, Molly Goldman, Caitlin Thomas, Grace Fox, Ben Harris, and Marcel Penzes.
Proceeds from the album are being donated directly to support breast cancer research. The cause is deeply personal for both Fisch Jr. and Nasar, whose mothers were diagnosed with breast cancer and have since reached full recovery.
