Adapted from the 2004 film, Finding Neverland explores the story behind the creation of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie's classic stage play about the beloved boy who doesn't grow up. The work, which played a Broadway run in 2015, features a score by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, and a book by James Graham. The musical is adapted from David Magee's screenplay, itself adapted from a stage play by Allan Knee. OFC Creations will be among the first regional theatres to produce the title.
OFC's season also includes Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas: The Musical starring Sesame Street's Vivian Bayubay McLaughlin; Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Garrett Clayton; Hello, Dolly! starring The Parent Trap star Elaine Hendrix; The Bodyguard: The Musical featuring The Voice star Aliyah Khaylyn; and Over the Rainbow: The Golden Girls Musical.
鈥淲e are committed to bringing beloved shows to Rochester that are not often produced, unique musicals that vary in origin and genre, and stories you know you'll love but may not have known existed,鈥 says OFC Executive Director Eric Vaughn Johnson in a statement. 鈥淥FC works directly with authors, estates, and special professional licensing agreements to secure a series we're proud to make part of our legacy.鈥
