New Hope, Pennsylvania's Bucks County Playhouse is welcoming three new artistic associates: choreographer Shannon Lewis, writer-director Eric Rosen, and actor-director John Tartaglia.

The trio join a roster that includes scenic designer Anna Louizos, playwright John Augustine, actor and director Hunter Foster, director and choreographer Lorin Latarro, and actor Mason Reeves. The Playhouse created the artistic associates program in 2018 with the appointment of Foster, who has directed 12 productions at the Playhouse.

The three newly named associates all have creative relationships with the Playhouse. Rosen directed American Jade; tick, tick鈥OOM!; and Anastasia at the Pennsylvania company. Lewis and Tartaglia, who, respectively, choreographed and directed the Playhouse鈥檚 production of Mamma Mia! in 2019, are returning later this year to helm a new production of Elf: The Musical. Lewis also choreographed a reimagined staging of The Rocky Horror Show that is returning to the Playhouse in the fall.

Bucks County Playhouse is under the artistic leadership of Producing Director Alexander Fraser, Executive Producer Robyn Goodman, and Producer Josh Fiedler.

鈥淪ince we came on board 11 years ago, Robyn, Josh, and I have worked with so many incredible artists over the 75+ productions we鈥檝e produced here,鈥 said Fraser in a statement. 鈥淪ome have returned again and again, and so we want to celebrate their contributions, and task them with becoming our emissaries in spreading the good word about what we鈥檙e doing and help attract new shows and artists to our fold.鈥

鈥淲e鈥檙e also privileged to have three celebrated artists on our Board of Directors: Marsha Mason, who has directed two productions, appeared in two and led our Play Discovery Series; Marilu Henner, starring in four productions, and Justin Guarini, four productions,鈥 added Goodman. 鈥淲hether acting, directing or hosting countless galas, Marilu, Marsha, and Justin have been terrific champions of our work.鈥

Lewis, who has performed in 10 Broadway musicals over 25 years, recently made her Broadway debut as a choreographer with Just in Time.

Rosen is a director, writer, and producer whose work has appeared on and  Off-Broadway and in more than 100 productions across major U.S. cities. He wrote the original musical Venice with Matt Sax, and his musical Winesburg, Ohio won Chicago鈥檚 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Musical and Philadelphia鈥檚 Barrymore Award for Best Musical.

Tartaglia, a Tony nominee for Avenue Q, is an Emmy-winning performer, writer, and director. His Broadway credits also include Beauty and the Beast and Shrek the Musical. He has appeared on Sesame Street, Julie鈥檚 Greenroom, and starred in and created the Emmy-winning Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock for Apple TV+.
