Ben Platt鈥檚 long-awaited solo album Sing To Me Instead drops March 29, and the former Evan Hansen marked the occasion by singing on The Today Show鈥檚 Citi Concert Series. The star sang 鈥淕row As We Go,鈥� having previously released the music video, and a first public performance of 鈥淥lder.鈥�
Platt has been slowly releasing multiple singles from the album鈥攊ncluding 鈥淏ad Habit,鈥� 鈥淓ase My Mind,鈥�鈥攕ince February, but now the full album is available on shelves, for digital download, and streaming. Overnight, the album jumped into the frontrunners of iTunes Top Charts for pop.

The Tony Award winner for Dear Evan Hansen says that the beauty of the album is that 鈥淚 get to present myself free from character and free from narrative鈥攋ust really present who I am and try to delve into things that mean enough to me to sing about, like relationships and my family and mortality.鈥�

Sing To Me Instead comes from Atlantic Records, and features all original songs. 鈥淚 wrote a couple by myself and then a bunch with a lot of really talented co-writers (including Michael Pollack),鈥� Platt told Hoda Kotb. 鈥淲e wrote 30-some songs, and we sat down and said, 'What are the ones we can't live without?'鈥�
