The New York premiere of Robert Schenkkan鈥檚 political drama Building the Wall officially opened May 24 at New World Stages. The new work by the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning playwright who wrote All the Way arrived Off-Broadway May 12 following an acclaimed run in Los Angeles.

Building the Wall is a two-person political suspense thriller starring James Badge Dale (The Departed) and Tamara Tunie (Julius Caesar), with direction by by Ari Edelson.

Here鈥檚 how the 2019-set play is billed: 鈥淚t鈥檚 the very near future, and the Trump administration has carried out his campaign promise to round up and detain millions of immigrants. Now, a writer (Tunie) interviews the supervisor (Badge) of a private prison as he awaits sentencing for carrying out the federal policy that has escalated into the unimaginable.鈥�
