Pasadena Playhouse will host the Los Angeles premiere of Sanctuary City by Pulitzer Prize winner Martyna Majok. Previews begin September 14 ahead of opening September 18. The show is set to run through October 9.
The show features screen actors Ana Nicolle Chavez (Truth Be Told) as G and Miles Fowler (Winning Time) as B, under the direction of Zi Alikhan. Sanctuary City explores the story of two life-long friends and their experiences鈥攖he good and the bad鈥攍iving in America.
Playwright Majok is currently working on the Broadway-aimed musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby with Florence and the Machine鈥檚 Florence Welch and Thomas Bartlett. Her Pulitzer-winning play Cost of Living will make its Broadway debut via Manhattan Theatre Club in next month.
The production will feature scenic design by Chika Shimizu and lighting design by Solomon Weisbard.
