Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced the D.C. venue鈥檚 2019鈥�2020 theatrical season, which will kick off September 27 with August Wilson鈥檚 Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Fences, directed by Timothy Douglas and starring Craig Wallace and Erika Rose.
The traditional presentation of Charles Dickens鈥� A Christmas Carol, adapted by Michael Wilson, will follow, running November 21-January 21, 2020. The music-filled production will feature Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
The new year will launch with Silent Sky, an inspiring drama about trail-blazing female astronomers. Directed by Seema Sueko, performances are scheduled for January 24鈥揊ebruary 23. The classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn, will conclude the season, March 13鈥揗ay 20. Dell Howlett will choreograph.
Performances of the Ford's Theatre Society鈥檚 actor-led History on Foot walking tours of downtown Washington, D.C., and performances of the one-act play One Destiny will continue in the spring of 2020.
