News Jim Parsons Is Behind New Warner Bros. Comedy TV Series Warner Bros. TV announced that is has acquired the rights to Ryan O'Connell's book "I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves," to be developed as a half-hour comedy series, according to Deadline. The show will be executive-produced by Broadway and TV actor Jim Parsons, currently starring in An Act of God, which began previews on May 7.

"I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves," set to be published in June, is a non-fiction collection penned by O'Connell, who writes about being gay, having cerebral palsy and growing up with special needs. A regular writer for the online platform Thought Catalog, he describes it as his "coming out of the disabled closet." It also touches on the many comedic facets of twenty-something life: modern dating, jobs, drugs and coming-of-age.
