Casting is complete for The Cape Playhouse's production of Anastasia: The Musical, which will play the Dennis, Massachusetts, venue July 16-August 2.
Directed by Cape Playhouse Artistic Director Eric Rosen with choreography by Al Blackstone, the cast will be led by Kyla Stone (Harmony, Anastasia national tour) as Anya, Dominic Dorset (Frozen national tour) as Dmitry, Erik Lochtefeld as Vlad Popov, Roe Hartrampf as Gleb Vaganov, Kate Marilley as Countess Lilly, and Christine Toy Johnson as Dowager Empress.
The ensemble will feature Michelle Arotsky, Alex Caldwell, Jasmine, Chelsea Cree Groen, Michael Haggerty, Aidan B. Jones, Laura Katherine Kaufman, Colby Lewis, Michael Mottram, April Nixon, Hugo Pizano Orozro, Aiden Powers, Makayla Ryan, and Kit Treece.
Anastasia features a score by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, who wrote the songs for the 1997 animated feature, including the Academy Award-nominated 鈥淛ourney to the Past." Late Tony winner Terrence McNally penned the book.

Anastasia, the Broadway stage musical adaptation of the 20th Century Fox animated film, officially opened at the Broadhurst Theatre April 24, 2017, following previews that began March 23. The musical arrived on Broadway following a world premiere at Hartford Stage in May 2016. Anastasia ended its Broadway run March 31, 2019, following 34 previews and 808 regular performances.
Anastasia is a fictionalized take on what could've happened to Anastasia Romanov, the youngest daughter of the last emperor of Russia, if she had survived the Russian Revolution. In the story, Anya is an orphan with amnesia who sets out to discover who she truly is.

The upcoming production will also feature sets by Jack Magaw, costumes by Annie J. Le, lights by Wheeler Moon, sound design by Elisabeth Weidner, projection design by Michael Salvatore Commendatore, wig design by J. Jared Janas, music direction by Evan Zvada, and casting by Paul Hardt. Merrick Williams will be the stage manager with Mary Kate Baughman and Julia Walker as the assistant stage managers.
