Manford, who has previously appeared in the West End when he took over as Pirelli in Sweeney Todd with Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton, was the winner of ITV's "Born to Shine" and has hosted such prime-time TV shows as "Sunday Night at the Palladium," "Sport: Super Saturday" and "The Royal Variety Show." He shot to stardom as team captain on Channel 4's "8 Out of 10 Cats."
In a press statement, he said, "I鈥檓 so thrilled to be starring in my favourite musical of all time. is a genius and I鈥檓 so excited to be playing the iconic role he created. The show is a riot of laughs from start to finish."
