The Redwood creators were celebrated at the May 27 event at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Playwright development laboratory New Dramatists honored Redwood co-creators Tina Landau and Idina Menzel at its annual spring luncheon May 27 at the New York Marriott Marquis, and the stars came out to support. Among those in attendance were 2025 Tony nominees Nicole Scherzinger, Cole Escola, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Darren Criss, Kara Young, Megan Hilty, James Monroe Iglehart, and Jasmine Amy Rogers; along with Phylicia Rashad, Jay O. Sanders, and Stephen Schwartz.

Attendees also included 2025 Tony nominees Will Aronson, Kimberly Belflower, Camille A. Also honored at the event was The Shubert Foundation, receiving the Isobel Konecky Award for serving the field with passion, dedication, excellence, and leadership.

Redwood was co-conceived by Landau and Menzel, with Landau also directing, writing the book, and co-writing the lyrics (with composer Kate Diaz); and Menzel starring. The musical played its final performance at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre May 18.
