New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced its 2025-2026 class of 2050 Administrative and Artistic Fellows. The 2050 Fellowship, named in celebration of the U.S. Census Bureau's projection that by the year 2050 there will be no single racial or ethnic majority in the U.S., promotes pushing boundaries and encouraging transformation in theatre.
The 2025-2026 Artistic Fellows are directors Miguel Bregante and Adam Coy, solo performer Rachel Lin, and playwrights Abigail C. Onwunali and Mary Treuhaft-Ali. Literary Manager Salma S. Zohdi, with the support of the NYTW Artistic Department, will serve as leader of the 2025-2026 fellowship, working directly with each fellow to build their individual fellowship experience as well as create community with the cohort.
The Artistic Fellows gather monthly with artists from the NYTW community to discuss craft, aesthetics, and artistic development. Each will receive a stipend and an artistic development fund, as well as access to rehearsal space and opportunities to share works-in-progress, among other opportunities. The program is supported in part by The New York Community Trust Van Leir Fellowship program. The 2050 Artistic Fellows program is supported in part by The New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellowship program.
The Administrative Fellowship, established in place of NYTW's internship program, allows emerging theatre makers to explore different paths, including playwriting, directing, designing, and administration. The program is partially supported with funds from the Axe-Houghton Foundation.
The 2025-2026 Administrative Fellows are Chandler Gregoire, Angela Guerra, Kimmarie McCrann, and Julie Monteleone.
