To celebrate Juneteenth, community, and Black artistry, the Broadway production of the new musical The Great Gatsby will host Black Theatre Night June 18.

Following the 7 PM performance, Salisha Thomas Weiss, host of The Salisha Show, will moderate a post-show talkback for that evening鈥檚 ticket holders. The discussion will feature the show鈥檚 new Daisy Buchanan, Aisha Jackson (The Notebook, Once Upon a One More Time, Waitress), alongside Gatsby company members Runako Campbell, Lex Hasbrouck, Curtis Holland, Nate Hunt, Katie Kennedy, Traci Lee, Kayla Pecchioni, and Mariah Reives.

Jackson, recently seen opposite Anika Noni Rose in the City Center Encores! staging of Wonderful Town, joined the Broadway cast of The Great Gatsby June 16 at the Broadway Theatre. The actress, who made history as the first Black woman to play Anna in Broadway's Frozen, joined a cast that includes Ryan McCartan as Jay Gatsby, Michael Maliakel as Nick, Linedy Genao as Myrtle Wilson, Austin Colby as Tom Buchanan, Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Charlie Pollock as George Wilson, and Eric Anderson as Meyer Wolfsheim.

The production鈥檚 ensemble includes Alexis Hasbrouck, Curtis Holland, Nathaniel Hunt, Brandon J. Large, Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, Chase Peacock, Kayla Pecchioni, Mariah Reives, Dan Rosales, Dave Schoonover, Tess Soltau, Preston Taylor, Jessica Mallare White, and Matt Wiercinski. Runako Campbell, Kurt Csolak, Carissa Gaughran, Morgan Harrison, Justin Keats, Samantha Pollino, Alex Prakken, and Elena Ricardo round out the cast as swings.

Based on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby features music and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Paradise Square) and Jason Howland (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones). Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) directs with choreography by Dominique Kelley (Mariah鈥檚 Magical Christmas Special).

Set in the Roaring '20s, the musical follows eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby, who will stop at nothing in his tragic pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman whom he loved in his youth.

The Great Gatsby also has scenic and projection design by Paul Tate de Poo III, costume design by Linda Cho, sound design by Brian Ronan, lighting design by Cory Pattak, and hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe and Rachael Geier.

Arrangements are by Jason Howland, orchestrations are by Howland and Kim Scharnberg, the music director is Daniel Edmonds, and the music producer is Grammy winner Billy Jay Stein for Strike Audio.

Casting is by C12 Casting, and the production stage manager is Brian Bogin. Mark Shacket of Foresight Theatrical serves as executive producer.

The new musical won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical.
