The Library of Congress is hosting a conference on Women and the American Musical May 14-16, with panels, presentations, and displays that will dig into the role women have played in the creation of musicals on stage and screen.
The conference will be available both to in-person audiences and virtually, with registration .
Among the announced programming are panels with Tony-winning composer Jeanine Tesori (Kimberly Akimbo, Fun Home), songwriters Shaina Taub (Suffs) and Helen Park (KPOP), director-designer Julie Taymor (The Lion King), 2025 Tony nominee Camille A. Brown (Gpsy), and producer Marjuan Canady (Hell's Kitchen).
