Reams made his Broadway debut in the chorus of Sweet Charity (1966) with . He went on to appear with in Applause (1970) and Carol Channing in Lorelei (1974) and Hello, Dolly! (1978 revival, in which he played Cornelius Hackl). Other roles include Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street and replacement Roger De Bris in The Producers, but in recent years he has concentrated more on directing, including numerous productions of Hello, Dolly!, including one in New York with an all-Asian cast for the National Asian Artists Project.
