News PHOTO CALL: Phillipa Soo, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Eric William Morris and Jeremy Morse Sing a Bloodsong of Love Joe Iconis' Bloodsong of Love is presented in concert Oct. 20 at 54 Below. Phillipa Soo, who starred in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, was among the evening's performers.

John Simpkins directed the performances, which were held at 7 PM and 9:30 PM. Jennifer Ashley Tepper produces.

The show also starred (Hairspray, The Opera), (The Last Goodbye, Mamma Mia!), Jeremy Morse (Drama Desk nominee for Bloodsong of Love), Lance Rubin (Billy Witch, The Opposite of Sex) and Jason SweetTooth Williams (The Disappearing Man, Things To Ruin) with a cameo by Donald Coggins.

The band included Seth Eliser, Dennis Michael Keefe, and Mike Rosengarten.

Bloodsong of Love, according to press notes, "is a musical interpretation of a Spaghetti Western film. A dizzying work of high-octane rock and roll, it's story spins out in a breathless series of chapters that both embrace and shatter the conventions of classic musical theater. With unforgettable characters, tuneful songs, intense action and buckets of heart, the show is about staying true to what you believe in and never giving up. meets Quentin Tarantino in Bloodsong of Love: a raging battle cry for those who believe in art and love and the sticking together!" Iconis' Bloodsong of Love premiered in a workshop production at Ars Nova in 2010 and was nominated for three Drama Desk Awards.

Iconis has also penned The Black Suits, ReWrite, The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks and We The People as well as the theatrical concert Things to Ruin (cast recording available on Ghostlight Records). His songs were featured on the second season of NBC's "Smash." Read more about his work in .
