A.C.T. of CT (also known as A Contemporary Theatre of Connecticut) will premiere the newly reimagined version of Almost Famous: The Musical as part of its 2025-2026 season in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
Featuring a revised book and score by original creators Tom Kitt and Cameron Crowe, performances are scheduled for October 18-November 23. Casting will be announced at a later date.
Both Kitt and Crowe will work with A.C.T.'s Artistic Director Daniel C. Levine, who will direct the production. Bryan Perri, the original Broadway music supervisor, will return to supervise the Ridgefield staging.

Almost Famous, based on Crowe's Oscar-winning 2000 film of the same name, follows a 15-year-old aspiring music journalist who Rolling Stone hires to go on tour with an up-and-coming rock band鈥攊t was based on Crowe's own experience as a young journalist. The original Broadway engagement opened at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre November 3, 2022, where it played 30 preview performances and 77 performances before closing January 8, 2023. The musical received a 2023 Tony nomination for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre.
