Concord Theatricals has acquired worldwide licensing rights in all languages to Mois茅s Kaufman and Amanda Gronich鈥檚 2024 Pulitzer Prize finalist Here There Are Blueberries.

The play follows the discovery of a photo album of Nazi officers at Auschwitz, and the questions those photographs raised about humanity's capacity for evil. It is based on a true story.

The show, created by Tectonic Theatre Project, ran Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop last year. Following two extensions, the play became the highest-grossing production in the theatre's 45-year history. An international tour began earlier this year, and is currently in performances at Berkeley Rep through May 11.

鈥淎t this moment in our collective history, a play about complacency, complicity, and culpability that probes into the conscience of a nation seems not only necessary but urgent,鈥 Kaufman and Gronich said in a joint statement. 鈥淲e are thrilled to be partnering with Concord Theatricals to bring Here There Are Blueberries to theaters, classrooms, and communities around the world.鈥

鈥淭he team at Concord have long been admirers of the critical work Tectonic Theatre Project does for the theatre industry and for storytelling, in general,鈥 added Amy Rose Marsh, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Artistic Development at Concord Theatricals. 鈥Here There Are Blueberries is a profoundly observant piece about the complex relationship between human nature and unimaginable tragedy.鈥
