Martin Crimp鈥檚 When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other, starring Oscar winner and Tony nominee Cate Blanchett, opened on January 23 at London鈥檚 National Theatre. The production also stars Stephen Dillane (The Real Thing, Game of Thrones) and is directed by Katie Mitchell.

The play revamps Samuel Richardson鈥檚 novel Pamela to tell the story of a teenage servant who refuses her master鈥檚 advances. Playwright Martin Crimp uses the novel as inspiration for a play about five characters entering a risky game of sexual domination and resistance.
