Oh, Mary! centers on famed First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, who, through the demented lens of Escola, becomes a cabaret-obsessed alcoholic, to hilarious results. The play began as a cult favorite downtown hit at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre last year, transferring to Broadway's Lyceum last summer and becoming a perhaps unlikely major Broadway smash. The show is currently up for five 2025 Tony Awards, including Best Play, Leading Actor in a Play for Escola, Direction of a Play for Pinkleton, Featured Actor in a Play for Conrad Ricamora, and Costume Design of a Play for Holly Pierson.
