The Original Broadway Cast Recording of In the Heights is now certified Gold, with over 500,000 album equivalents sold in the United States. Ghostlight Records and Warner Music Group celebrated the occasion May 5 as part of the free Movies at the Palace with Lin-Manuel Miranda screening of In the Heights at the United Palace Theater.
Plaques were presented by Warner Music Group's Kevin Gore to composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, book writer Quiara Alegr铆a Hudes, producer Kevin McCollum, album producer Andres Levin, and album producer Alex Lacamoire.

The event also featured a post-screening talkback between Miranda and Christopher Jackson, plus a surprise performance of "When You're Home" by original In the Heights cast members Jackson and Mandy Gonzalez. Anthony Ramos, who starred in the musical's 2021 film adaptation, also surprised the sold-out crowd.
