Second Stage Theater's New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Marguliesâ€� Lunar Eclipse begins performances May 14 at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Directed by Drama League Award winner Kate Whoriskey (Clyde’s, Sweat), the production s6tars Tony winner Reed Birney (Mass, The Humans) and Drama Desk nominee Lisa Emery (Ozark, A Kind of Alaska). The production will officially open June 3.

The play, which deals with the fragility of memory, centers on a long-married couple on a hot summer night, sipping bourbon and reminiscing at they wait for a lunar eclipse to appear over their Kentucky farm. As the seven stages of the celestial phenomenon unfold, secrets are revealed as the couple realize that, many years down the line, they are still a mystery to each other.

The production features scenic design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, sound design by Sinan Refik Zafar, video design by S. Katy Tucker, and original music by Grace Mclean.
