Jordan Tannahill's Prince F****t has extended its run Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater, where it will now run through August 3rd. It began performances June 17, and was originally set to continue through July 13. Read the reviews here.
Described in press notes as a "meta-theatrical tragicomedy," the work features a queer and gender expansive ensemble daring to imagine a monarch from their own community.
The ensemble cast currently features Rachel Crowl (Between Two Knees), K. Todd Freeman (Downstate), David Greenspan (Marie Antoinette), Mihir Kumar (Law and Order: SVU), John McCrea (Cabaret), and N鈥檡omi Allure Stewart (A Raisin in the Sun). Beginning July 29th, Jason Veasey (A Strange Loop) will replace K. Todd Freeman as he departs to direct Mr. Wolf at Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
The production features scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, sound design and original music by Lee Kinney, wig and hair design by Cookie Jordan, dramaturgy by Sarah Lunnie, and intimacy coordination by UnkleDave's Fight-House. Ryan Gohsman serves as production stage manager.
